In October, 2009, Christian book stores in Morehead City and Jacksonville, NC closed their doors because they were not able to remain profitable. In February, 2010, a Christian book store in Greenville closed also. While management mistakes are certainly part of any business failure, the main reason for their demise was, most likely, lack of local consumer support.

May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. ~Ephesians 3:19a NLT
At Straight Up Faith Gear, we work hard every day to earn your business away from chain-stores and internet merchants. We  want to be here a long time providing a place for Jesus-followers across ENC to find encouragement, education, and empowerment to live a bold life of faith, worship and witness for our Savior. We deeply care about building God's Kingdom in the local ENC area, and want to partner with you in this endeavor. We pray every day that God will provide the resources we need to continue on our mission. We firmly believe that He will.

We need your help. We ask for your help.

The more you patronize our store, the better we can and will be for you. Increased revenue enables us to expand our product line, provide depth to our inventory (so you can always find what you need on the shelf), and stay on the cutting edge of Christian stores.

We will go the extra mile to get you what you need. Please give us the opportunity.

REASONS TO SHOP LOCAL
1. We offer local character and a real person to deal with regarding your purchases.

2. We help build a strong local Christian presence to influence local political and economic forces.

3. We help create a web of relationships among local churches and Christians.

4. We live in and attend churches in the local community, so we care deeply about our relationships with people in our sphere of influence.

5. We can stock products of more pertinent local interest than chain stores or internet merchants.

6. We can provide the same products available via the internet, but, in most cases, sans the shipping costs.

7. We recycle a much larger percentage of our revenue back into the local economy than chain stores or internet merchants.

8. A marketplace of tens of thousands of small businesses is the best way to ensure innovation and low prices over the long-term.

9. Entrepreneurship fuels America's economic innovation and prosperity.

10. We're not in it for the money. We view our business as a local ministry and temper all our business decisions with that perspective.
